Dear Reps,
As was mentioned during Thursday night’s Rep meeting, the board has voted to move Intergroup meetings back to an in-person only format – as it was prior to the pandemic. The initial decision to move to Zoom in 2020 was made by our trusted servants in order to preserve our common welfare in the face of an international health crisis. It is once again in the interest of our common welfare that we will host meetings face to face – allowing for a direct encounter of fellow alcoholics united in service and recovery. Of course, this move is not ideal for some, and may cause challenges which push us past our comfort levels. It is for each rep to decide, in council with their group conscience, if this service commitment still fits in light of this change.
Intergroup provides a chance to get plugged in and active in the local AA community. Historically, the Rep meeting has facilitated the spread of ideas, opportunities, and insights in a tangible experience of the Fellowship at work in our local community. It is truly an AWESOME wonder for disparate fellows like us to unite enthusiastically in an effort to help the still suffering alcoholic.
“Life will take on new meaning. To watch people recover, to see them help others, to watch loneliness vanish, to see a fellowship grow up about you, to have a host of friends — this is an experience you must not miss. We know you will not want to miss it. Frequent contact with newcomers and with each other is the bright spot of our lives. (A.A. pg 89)”
Starting March 9th, 2023 we will meet at Central Commons at 4711 Westside Dr, Dallas, TX 75209.
Rep Meeting Starts at 8pm. Arrive early and enjoy coffee and fellowship if you like!
Thank you for ALL your efforts to support unity and collaboration between groups, in pursuit of AA’s primary purpose.
Yours Truly,
Sam Fuller
Office Manager
