"This is the start of volunteer activities.  We need 4,000 volunteers.  There will be plenty of assistance to answer

all of your questions.  Come join us for fun and fellowship.  Meet GSO coordinators for the Convention.

THIS IS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT FOR TEXAS!

DON'T MISS IT.

FROM THE WWW.AA.ORG WEBSITE:

It has been said that International Convention volunteers are like greeters at an A.A. meeting room door, except they are greeting 50,000 people.  This wonderful event will need a host committee of 3,000 to 4,000 volunteers to welcome members from around the globe.

That being said, at this point there is currently very little activity for volunteers.  The structure of the local host committee is being put in place.  For a description of some of the subcommittees, visit http://www.aa75.org.

On January 9, 2010, the local host committee will hold a Volunteer Kickoff event in San Antonio to begin gathering names of A.A. members interested in volunteering.  After the Volunteer Kickoff, members will be able to sign up to volunteer online.

Newsflash

The September 2010 Book of the Month will be:  Voices of Long-Term Sobriety, Old-Timers' Stories from the AA Grapevine. This is one of Grapevine's recent publications and a very good one.  The collection of 42 stories from long time AA members tell how they hit bottom and got sober, as well as vivid descriptions of the early days of AA.  One section, titled, "Living History" is a wonderful selection of "the old days".  Usually $10, thru September the book will be 50% off to individual members.  A great buy for $5!!
